Terms of service
Last updated 24 October 2026
Draft, not in force. Words in square brackets are still to be filled in. A lawyer will read this page before paid plans open.
1. These terms
These terms are an agreement between Mário Henrique Toste Sousa, tax number (NIF) 273284207 ("Gildyard", "we") and the organization that uses Gildyard ("you"). Whoever signs up or connects a subscription accepts them for their organization and confirms they may do so. The data processing agreement is part of these terms; the privacy page explains what we do with data about the people who use the service.
Gildyard is for organizations, not for personal use.
2. The service
Gildyard reads your cloud subscriptions and draws them as a yard you can watch, with what is failing, what sits idle and what it costs. It holds only two of Azure's built-in read-only roles, Reader and Cost Management Reader, and never changes your resources. If you choose Do it for me, it uses your own Azure sign-in, at that moment, to create exactly those two role assignments on the subscriptions you pick.
Early access. During early access the service is free, by invitation only, and still changing: features can appear, change or go away, and we make no promise about availability. We'll tell you before anything you rely on goes away.
3. Your account and your organization
- Your organization's owners and admins decide who may use it, with which role and which yards.
- You are responsible for the people you add and for the TV links you make and share: anyone with a TV link can see that yard until you revoke it.
- Keep your Microsoft accounts secure, and tell us at once if you think someone used yours without permission.
4. Access to your cloud
- You give Gildyard its read-only roles yourself, in your own Azure portal or with Do it for me, and you can take them away at any time. You confirm you are allowed to give that access.
- Disconnecting a subscription in Gildyard deletes everything we hold about it, at once, except the activity log's lines recording who connected and disconnected it.
5. Fair use
You won't:
- use Gildyard against the law or to harm anyone;
- try to reach data that isn't yours, test our security without our written permission, or get around a limit;
- overload the service, scrape it, or copy, resell or rebuild it.
6. Your data
What Gildyard reads from your cloud stays yours. You let us process it only to run the service for you, as the data processing agreement describes. We don't sell it and don't use it for anything else. If you send us feedback, we may use it to improve Gildyard without owing you anything for it.
7. Price
Early access is free. Paid plans will be announced before they start; nothing is ever charged without your agreement, and the plans and their prices will be set out on gildyard.com.
8. Confidentiality
Each of us keeps what we learn about the other through the service confidential, uses it only for the service, and shares it only with people who need it and are bound to the same care.
9. Stopping
- You can stop at any time: disconnect your subscriptions, remove the read-only roles, and ask us to delete your organization.
- We may suspend access at once if it is used against these terms or puts the service or other customers at risk, and we'll tell you why.
- We may end early access with 30 days' notice.
- When the service ends for you, we delete your data as the data processing agreement says.
10. What the service doesn't promise
During early access Gildyard is provided as it is. The yard shows what Azure reports, on a delay and sometimes with gaps: it is not a replacement for Azure's own monitoring, alerts or invoices, and the costs it shows can differ from your bill.
11. Liability
Neither of us is liable to the other for indirect or consequential loss, such as lost profit or lost data. Our total liability under these terms is limited to €100 or what you paid us in the twelve months before the claim, whichever is more. None of this limits liability that the law doesn't allow to be limited, such as for fraud, wilful misconduct or gross negligence.
12. Changes to these terms
We'll tell you about a change that matters at least 30 days before it takes effect, in the app or by email. If you don't agree, you can stop using Gildyard before then.
13. Law and courts
These terms are governed by the law of Portugal. Disputes go to the courts of Angra do Heroísmo, unless the law gives you the right to go elsewhere.
